Carlotta Gherzi For Sado Catwalk Review

Soothing sounds of waves lapping the shore and gulls crying in a summer’s sky introduced Carlotta Gherzi’s runway show for Sado, creating the perfect atmosphere for a SS ‘11 collection.

Scalloped layers of ivory silk on slim leg trousers and sleek dresses created a look representative of the ocean’s tide gradually making its way up the beach. Vibrant blue and sunset orange printed wrap dresses displayed bold graphics of life under the sea… You may detect a bit of a theme occurring here, and if so you’d be right. Entitled ‘Underwater’ the collection’s ‘beachy’ appearance was inspired by Carlotta’s visits to the Italian Mediterranean coast, and was designed specifically for the ‘Carlotta Gherzi’ girl, who vacations in far away exotic retreats.

After a display of chic day wear such as patterned bikini tops and lightly flowing kaftans dresses, the show’s mood shifted when models sporting classic black party dresses in lengths ranging from mini to maxi took over the runway. Carlotta Gherzi for Sado presented us with a perfect example of a summer wardrobe, providing elegant looks for both day and night.
