BACKSTAGE| Toni&Guy for James Small AW12

Backstage for James Small, there was an excited buzz in the air. It was unclear whether it was the hype and anticipation that surrounds Small's AW12 collection or if it was just genuine excitement for the catwalk show.
The models for the show had long, wild locks, which were loosely pulled into a looped half ponytail by the Toni&Guy team. Meanwhile, models with short hair were styled into a clean crop and accesorised with fur hats from the line.
A truly inspiring take on the AW12 collection with the hair effectively taking on board the 'Dark Arctic' theme.

COLLECTION| James Small AW12

James Small’s highly anticipated AW12 show delivered an eclectic mix of luxurious cardigans, jerseys and suits; an innovative and high fashion take on workman-chic.
Fur was a key feature in the collection - unsurprisingly, as the collection was entitled 'Dark Artic' - grey and black fur accents adorned the models as hats, sleeves on their jackets and as full fur coats. Patterning played a minor part in the line, with checked shirts peaking out of the bottom of jersey cardigans and appearing again in the form of an oversized belted cardigan and buttoned utilitarian style coat.
The slouch bottomed, braces adorned jersey trousers in shades of grey and black were an eye-catching featured on the collection - directly mixing workman casual with tailoring.
The attention to detail within James Small's collection was evident; lapels, oversized collars and deep pockets became key features in the design of the line.
As the models thumped down the catwalk, hands in accented pockets to the beat of the music, the crowd were animated and nodded along to the music. The celebrity studded front row, only hyped up an already energetic, detailed and deliciously dark collection.

BACKSTAGE| T.Lipop Vs Asger Juel Larsen

Backstage at Asger Juel Larsen, there’s an ominous feel to the models. With hollowed sculpted cheeks, and dark heavy lidded eyes, the makeup is deliciously romantic-gothic in it’s look. With an almost androgynous edge, the hair is oil slicked down allowing the makeup to take centre stage. Described as a ‘look of hunger’, the entire style conformed with Asger’s vampiric inspired makeup, making for a stunning fashion overall.
T.Lipop’s models were all ready to go when they arrived at Vauxhall Fashion Scout as the designer has already presented his collection this London Fashion Week, earlier today. The inspiration behind this season’s look was ‘Scott of the Antarctic’. T. Lipop’s stylist, Bill, explained, “ We wanted everything to look frozen”, so beards, moustaches and eyebrows were whitened using an innovative concoction of milk powder and water to give the impression of an “Artic blast”. The hair was also made to look a little dirty and in keeping with the 1930’s era waxes were used to push back the hair. The skin was matt but rouge was applied to give rosey red cheeks and evoke the severe cold.

COLLECTION| T.Lipop Vs Asger Juel Larsen AW12

A real buzz of excitement filled the hall as people were shown to their seats to watch the eagerly awaited T.lipop v Asger Juel Larsen presentation. A war march style sound with muffled chants and mechanical beats formed the soundtrack produced by Joseph Ash Worth. AJL's collection entitled 'Lucid Disorder' took the runway in a marriage of eastern European military with elements of the  fragile and industrial. A gothic colour palette harmonised with earthy hues, Paisley and a dash of of red brought the soviet theme to life.

Lots of outerwear was featured with heavy trenches and a focus headwear with  fur Cossack hats and snood style hoods. asymmetric hemlines on chunky knits, sharp tailoring and intelligent placement of zips.  Skinny structured legs featuring an extreme drop crotch style hareem pant on some styles.
In a very clear and sharp contrast T.Lipop had a contemporary heritage thread running through it's collection with it's field trip aesthetic and playful styling. Beautiful tailoring and flawless construction were evident and Although the collection was for A/W it still featured shorts and cropped trousers. Looks were created with a clever use of layering and  accessories included fur back packs and other elements of an outdoor survival kit.

PARIS| Final Designers announced for The Vauxhall Fashion Scout Paris Showroom

We are elated to announce the final line up of new and emerging designers for the Vauxhall Fashion Scout Paris Showroom.

With a blend of designers from London Fashion Week and many designers showing exclusively for Paris Fashion Week, we are thrilled to welcome the world's leading new talent in fashion and design to exhibit their A/W collections at the new Paris Showroom for Vauxhall Fashion Scout.

With a brilliant range of emerging designers, including our Merit Award Winner Phoebe English- our Paris Showroom is moving just a few short steps away from our space last season to a bigger, brighter space in the heart of the Marais.

Hailed by Vogue Italia as "the best showcase of new and exciting talent in Paris", The Paris Showroom will continue to support and encourage new designers to meet with credited buyers and key members of the press, just moments away from the world's most fantastic established names such as Stella McCartney.

BACKSTAGE| Ones to Watch Men's at Vauxhall Fashion Scout AW12

Backstage at Ones to Watch the preparation is in full swing, rails are packed with the four designers’ collections and a large crowd of Toni and Guy hairstylists, Body Shop make-up artists, models, bookers and pr assistants meaning pathways are narrow and the air humid. The room is oozing with excitement.

The general direction for hair was slick and tidy with the occasional side parting referencing the traditional English gent. The main products being used to create this look included lots of Label M strong wax and gel.

Makeup was pale with neutral tones painting a super contoured, gaunt look. 'BODYBOUND' models were also having their brows blanked out to add interest.

Bodyshop Products for this look mainly included the clever use of the eyebrow kit for brows and all contouring, with 39 black eyeshadow and pencil smudge for the eyes.

NEWS| VOGUE's Jessica Bumpus on Vauxhall Fashion Scout

That's it for another season from Vauxhall Fashion Scout, but we're headed to Paris with our Exhibition designers, where we'll also be interviewing them about their Autumn/Winter collections, and digging deeper for the lowdown on the "Fashion Week experience". Until then, we'll leave you with some parting comments from VOGUE.com's Fashion Features Editor, Jessica Bumpus.

"I think [Vauxhall Fashion Scout] are brilliant. When you go to London Fashion Week here, it goes back to what being a designer's all about; there's something really fun and exciting about being here. All the designers are at the beginning of their careers, and you can see their hunger- and their passion- and you see a lot of great ideas.

This season, I really liked Myrza de Muynck- she's fantastic; there's something both cute, and cool about her work. I also really liked Heohwan Simulation, because their designs are so severely cut, and generally really strong... Today, I loved Joseph Turvey- his work's got a really good commercial feel, but a point of difference. Menswear is really hard to get the balance between something that's both creative, and wearable, and I really think his collection ticked all the boxes."
