NEWS| Body Shop at Fashion Scout London

Back for another season with Fashion Scout, longtime make-up and manicure sponsors The Body Shop talk nude nails, strong brows and Instagram-ready skin as their go to beauty looks both on and off catwalk. Offering complimentary mini-makeovers and manicures to guests, Jasmin Keers from The Body Shop Newcastle and celebrity nail artist Glenis Baptiste use new-season Body Shop launches to offer a taste of upcoming catwalk looks.

Keers cites a contoured face and wash of blue or purple on eyelids as this season’s most referenced look, as well as a bold lip for added drama. In terms of beauty hangovers from AW14, strong brows are still going strong; ‘full brows will always be on trend,’ she tells us, while graphic eyeliner continues with a modern update. Perfectly winged herself, The Body Shop are well-placed to provide the tools, tips and tricks to a flawless liquid eye look.

New products being used include Instablur primer for both skin and eyes, creating a photo-perfect finish to your daily make-up, as well as the newly released Colour Crush range for lips, eyes and nails. Juicy brights are joined by sleek dark hues, taking you from season to season.

Nail artist Glenis Baptiste praises nail art’s love of ‘anything goes’, allowing her to choose a different Colour Crush shade for each nail to show off all the great colours out there. Nail transfers, dots, stripes and marbling prove nail art is still a strong trend, but nudes are experiencing a resurgence on the catwalk - especially at Fashion Scout SS15. Colour Crush nudes are more vibrant and suit a variety of skin tones, unlike in previous years.

Glenis believes that younger designers bring more flair to fashion, especially in terms of their inventive and experimental beauty looks. Talking about Fashion Scout as a platform for these emerging talents, Glenis believes Fashion Scout is an absolutely fantastic platform; ‘you can’t ask for anything more to launch your brand on, or get your name out there’.
